Log on to the MDID

The Madison Digital image database was developed at James Madison University as a method for creating and saving image lectures that may be used for student review and in the classroom.

Key strokes and tips for using the ImageViewer: ImageViewer Manual

Used when projecting a slide show onto a large screen, for example in a classroom or auditorium. Instructors can also download the client application to a computer in a technology classroom or at their desktop computer to view, present and manipulate high resolution images. The software is available for download within the program under "Downloads".

Note: In order to protect your ASUrite,
remember to log off  the computer after each session.


PC Access:
Log on to computer using your ASUrite ID and password. If there is not a "IV" shortcut on the desktop, navigate from Start>Instructor Volumes>A-C>ART99. Double-click on the icon. Go back to the desktop and you should see an icon for "U_Drive". Open U_Drive, double click on ImageViewer icon. This will install the software onto the desktop. The program will open automatically, at the login screen, then enter your MDID name and password (not your ASUrite). This procedure will need to be followed each time you log on.

Mac Access:
Log on to the computer using you ASUrite ID and password. Locate the Instructor Volume icon in the dock at the bottom of the desktop (IV in a circle). Click on the icon, a login dialog box will appear. Type the Instructor Volume account UserID in the name field (fac154), tab to the password field and enter: "secody" (passwords are case-sensitive). Click "connect", after which you will see the Instructor Volumes icon mounted on the desktop. Double click on this icon and browse to locate your Instructor Volume: ART998. Double click on ImageViewer icon. This will install the software onto the desktop. The program will open automatically, at the login screen, then enter your MDID name and password (not your ASUrite). This procedure will need to be followed each time you log on.
