Teaching Experience

1999Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ Ceramic survey course: Basic techniques of hand building and wheel throwing, as well as gas, electric, and raku firings. 3-Dimensional Design- Core program Taught fundamentals of design
1997 Mudflat Studios, Somerville, MA Teaching an advanced hand building course with adult students in a studio environment. Explored clay and its processes through advanced level projects and critiques.
1995-97 Somerville Arts Council, Art Without Walls Program, Somerville, MA Created a prototype series of intergenerational family clay classes at sites throughout the city. Provided a community venue for the artwork through collaboration with local businesses and youth sites. Developed and implemented a summer arts program at the Mystic Housing Development. Helped to create and run the Imagination Factory, a free drop-in ant studio in the Assembly Square Mall.
1994-96 Blessed Sacrament School, Jamaica Plain, MA Designed and taught an art curriculum in an elementary school environment. Developed projects that encouraged learning, problem solving and exploration of different mediums through the visual arts.
1995 Brookline Adult Education, Brookline, MA Taught a series of beginning ceramics studio classes, investigating both hand building and wheel throwing techniques.
1992-94 Solomon Schecter Day School, Newton, MA Substitute teacher for ant department, grades K-4; Teachers assistant, grades &8. Taught after school clay class, 5th grade.
